The Mechatronics Group with its headquarters in Mechernich, Cologne holds a 60% share in its strategic partner Almatec AG, Switzerland, in order to ensure the continued growth and success of the company. The founder and owner of Almatec, Alfred Hertli, retains a 40% stake, and will also hold the position of chief executive officer of the company in coming years.
The city of Düsseldorf and 41 companies and public institutions joined the initiative "Diversity as an opportunity - The Charter of Diversity for companies in Germany".
Deutsche Mechatronics was recognised by AMADA in two ways - it received both the "Gold Award" and its silver counterpart. The innovative production process and the precise manufacture of a formed sheet-metal part won over the jury: AMADA, the world’s leading manufacturer of machines for sheet-metal forming, awarded the product the prize in the "Precision and Innovation" category.
With the slogan "… alles ausser Drucken" ("… everything but printing"), Deutsche Mechatronics presented modular solutions for printing-related activities at the DRUPA trade fair. For the first time, the company showed the optimised integration of peripheral components for drying, curing and cooling processes and exhaust air purification. The inline measurement of the degree of dryness and the integrated powder extraction are also world firsts.
Mechernich, 5 May 2008. The fluid-cooled infrared drying module from Deutsche Mechatronics was awarded the prize in the "Engineering" category by the "Initiative Mittelstand" at this year’s Hanover trade fair. For the first time ever, this compact system, which features an integrated cooling circuit, will allow the industry flexible, reliable and environmentally friendly application of IR drying techniques in the heat treatment of heat-sensitive sheeting, or in the drying of temperature-sensitive goods.
With the motto "zwEiFELlos innovativ" ("undoubtedly innovative"), the future-oriented Eifel initiative and the regional business development agency AGIT held the EifelTEC II forum at Deutsche Mechatronics on 23 April 2008.
At the EuroMold Fair on 5 December, Deutsche Mechatronics was presented with the German Material Efficiency Prize 2007 by Dr. Rainer Jäkel, Undersecretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

Deutsche Mechatronics was awarded the German Material Efficiency Prize for the successful implementation of "dynamic nesting" for optimal use of materials in sheet-metal processing.
The 10,000-euro prize, awarded annually by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology to five companies from different industries, was presented to the company on 5 December on the occasion of the Euromold Fair in Frankfurt am Main
